Farnham through the seasons — photographs old and new.
A wider selection of photographs — village landmarks, the church, the lanes and the surrounding countryside through the seasons. Click any image to enlarge, or play the slideshow to watch them in turn.
Most photographs by villagers and friends of Farnham, including a number of seasonal images shared by the community on social media (Instagram and similar) — original photographers thanked anonymously. Church, village green, phone kiosk and post box images sourced from Wikimedia Commons via Geograph Britain & Ireland (CC BY-SA 2.0). The watercolour painting and the earlier archive photographs (Edwardian street scene, family with trap, 1923 village gathering, colour aerial view) are held within the village; original photographers and the watercolour’s artist unknown. The Crown Inn and Manor Farm Dairy archive pieces (c. 1940s–1970s) have been digitally restored and colourised, by AI, from black-and-white originals shared via the Old photos and the history of Knaresborough Facebook group; small details of signage and lettering may reflect the limits of automated restoration.
